李薇集教授、艺术家、设计师为一身，曾出版《京剧服饰制作技艺研究》、《绣娘》等专著多部，多篇论文在《装饰》等核心期刊发表；自1995年至今，在全世界范围内的英国、法国、意大利、德国、西班牙、澳门、香港等国家、地区多次举办个展并参加重要群展，作品被英国阿尔伯特·维多利亚博物馆、中国美术馆、中国丝绸博物馆等国内外知名博物馆、美术馆收藏;作品取得多项国内外专业重要奖项，其中包括国家最高视觉艺术类荣誉的“第十届全国美术作品展”金奖；国际纤维艺术最高奖项“从洛桑到北京”第六届国际纤维艺术展金奖；北京国际设计周年度设计师“月桂奖”及北京冬奥会和冬残奥会制服装设计“铜奖”等。李薇亦是中国“十佳服装设计师”，曾发布“Xiuniang·李薇高级定制时装发布会”“南溟吉贝——黎锦主题非遗服饰秀”“锦瑟华年——上久楷·李薇宋锦服装秀”等个人服装秀。

Li Wei is a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Textile and Fashion Design in Academy of Arts & Design in Tsinghua University, visiting scholar at École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, vice president of the Chinese Clothing Culture Research Association, chairman of the China Fashion Color Patchwork Committee, deputy director of Fashion Styling Professional Committee in China Film Art Direction Academy and deputy director of the Fashion Art Professional Committee in China Textile Engineering Society.

She is a scholar, artist and designer. She has published series of monographs, such as Study on Peking Opera Costume Making Techniques and Embroiderers, and she has published a lot of papers in core journals such as Art & Design. Since 1995, she has held many solo exhibitions and participated in important group exhibitions in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Spain and other countries all over the world. Her works are collected by well-known museums and art galleries, such as Victoria and Albert Museum in Britain, the National Art Museum of China and China National Silk Museum. She has won a number of major domestic and international professional awards, including the gold prize of the 10th National Art Exhibition (the highest national visual art honor), the gold prize of ‘From Lausanne to Beijing’ the 6th International Fiber Art Exhibition (the highest international fiber art award), the laurel award of Beijing International Design Week Annual Designer, the bronze award of Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics for costume design, etc. Li Wei is also one of Chinese ‘Top Ten Fashion Designers’. She has released Xiuniang · Li Wei Haute Couture Fashion Show, Nanmingjibei: Li Brocade Intangible Cultural Heritage Fashion Show, and Jinsehuanian: SAINTJOY ·Li Wei Song Brocade Fashion Show and other personal fashion shows.

《锦瑟华年》灵感来源于唐代诗人李商隐《锦瑟》一诗:“锦瑟无端五十弦，一弦一柱思华年”，比喻青春时代，也寓意着宋锦美好时代的到来和未来发展。通过不断挖掘宋锦传统及艺术价值和更多元、更年轻的时尚表现形式，使本件作品凸显宋锦时尚的商业化、艺术化、国际化，让传统文化融入国际时尚，走向未来、走向世界。让宋锦像一个年轻的孩子一样，焕发出新的能量与活力，重温锦瑟华年。

The Youth of Jinse is inspired by the poem the Sad Zither (Jinse) by Li Shangyin, the poet of Tang dynasty: ‘Why should the sad zither have fifty strings? Each string, each strain evokes but vanished springs’. It is a metaphor for the youth age, and it also implies the arrival and bright future of Song brocade. Through the continuous exploration of Song brocade’s traditional and artistic value, and more diverse and younger fashion forms, this artwork highlights the commercialization, artistry and internationalization of Song brocade fashion, and integrates traditional culture into international fashion trend, moving towards future and the international arena. Let Song brocade be like a young child, glowing with new energy and vitality, and relive the great moments of youth.
